Aga Khan Foundation Canada [AKFC] is a private, international development agency that promotes social development among poor and vulnerable populations in Africa and South and Central Asia without regard to race, religion or political persuasion. The Foundation seeks practical and inexpensive ways to enhance the quality of education, improve healthcare, increase rural incomes and build capacity in institutions, communities and individuals in order to sustain development efforts. It operates in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and Uganda.
