AWARE - The Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment is an entirely volunteer driven registered charitable non-profit organization. The organization was formed in 1989 with a mandate to push for a recycling program for the Resort Municipality of Whistler BC. We are active on environmental and sustainability issues in our valley, and in the fast vanishing wilderness in our backyard. The organization consists of an elected Board of Directors, members, and an executive board holding positions of President, 2 Vice-Presidents, and Treasurer. AWARE sees a sensible balanced approach to environmental sustainability as the only option for our future from both an environmental and economic point of view
