Community activists from across Canada and from the USA who participated in the Beyond Factory Farming conference held in Saskatoon in November 2002 decided to form a national coalition of the same name to promote our common vision: “Livestock Production for Health and Social Justice” and mission: “To promote livestock production that supports food sovereignty, ecological, human and animal health as well as local sustainability and community viability and informed citizen/consumer choice.”
