Conservation and Biodiversity: Several projects are underway to help restore the once biologically rich aquatic habitats of our nature sanctuaries including Project Paradise, one of North America’s largest wetland restoration projects. Social Commitment
Over 30 km of Nature Sanctuaries and Trails allow learning about the natural diversity of Cootes Paradise, Hendrie Valley, and the Escarpment Properties. Explore on your own or with your family.
The horticulture department designs, builds and maintains the Gardens’ plant collections and display gardens.
Gardens and Collections: The Gardens’ five geographically separated garden areas showcase a diversity of the plant collections.
Plant Documentation: The Gardens’ plant documentation office keeps detailed records of every living plant in our collections, in the same way that other major museums document their collections.
Plant Propagation: We propagate our own plants for our garden displays and for plant sales.
Gardening Information: Located in the Gardens' administration area directly across from reception. Volunteers have been operating Gardening Information Service for more than 10 years. In the summer, M to F every morning.
